AMKAR's wheelchair accessible ramp is designed so that it can be opened or closed with the push of a button. This allows for safe and easy entry or exit of the vehicle for a wheelchair occupant. Inside AMKAR, the occupant can either drive or remain in their wheelchair while being driven. Either way, the wheelchair is easily locked into place with the simple push of a button and the occupant secured with AMKAR's safety belt system. A driver can use the standard gas and brake foot pedals or a physically challenged driver can operate AMKAR with an optional Mobility Products Design Push/Pull 3400 Series Hand Control. The lift is a completely self-contained compact unit, requiring no additional components. The portability feature makes it possible for public facilities to save on the cost of installing multiple fixed lifts or ramps (to say nothing of the floor space taken up by ramps!) since one Ascension Virtuoso lift can serve multiple locations.
The Ascension Virtuoso vertical portable wheelchair lift is available in two standard models: the Ascension Virtuoso 4860P (48" long platform) and the Ascension Virtuoso 5460P (54" long platform for individuals in oversized wheelchairs and scooters).
Every Ascension portable wheelchair lift ships as a fully assembled product. There is no installation; the lift plugs into a standard 120-volt wall outlet and is ready for use. No building alterations or site preparations are required.
